The Re-launching of Victoria Court Cottage.

The sky was so clear and the sun shone brightly over the whole village in the early morning of March 27, 2011. It seems that God has touched everything -– the trees, the flowers; the weather was perfect for the event— the official re-launching of Cottage 8 or the Victoria Court Cottage. Cottage 8 was named after the Victoria Court chain of hotels, whose owner, Mr. Archie King, made possible the realization of Cottage 8 way back in December 2001 and again its renovation ten years later (March 2011). The atmosphere and beauty of the village was like a great masterpiece of a famous painter. Indeed, the village was ready for the event. Even the wheelchair-bound children seemed excited at the thought of moving to a newly renovated cottage.

Ash Wednesday.

March 9, 2011 -- Ash Wednesday marks the first day, or the start of the season of Lent, which begins 40 days prior to Easter (Sundays are not included in the count).

On Ash Wednesday, Christians go to church to receive ash on their foreheads. It is often a day of fasting. The receiving of ashes has a long tradition in the Church.

Lent is a time when many Christians prepare for Easter by observing a period of fasting, repentance, moderation and spiritual discipline.
