14 April 2011 - Rhon Vincent was adopted by a Norwegian couple in November 8, 1998. At that time, he was only 4 years old. He was re-named Rhon Andre when adoption was eventually finalized.
Twelve years later, at 16 years old, Rhon Andre and his parents and Filipino brother came back and visited Chosen Children Village for a day.
The school children gave Rhon and his family a very warm welcome. They prepared a short presentation for Rhon where the theme was basically Filipino. The school children danced "Pandango sa Ilaw" and sang some Filipino songs. They even taught Rhon some of the steps of the dance and Rhon did the steps with hesitation and shyness. Afterwards, Rhon decided to tour the village again with his friend Dave and the other teenage boys. It was a happy reunion for the boys.
During Rhon’s stay in the village, his closest childhood friend was Dave who is the same age as he is. Now, after being reunited Rhon and Dave found out that they have similar interests and likes.
Rhon and his family reminisced the day that they picked up Rhon in the village. They took souvenir photos of the facilities where Rhon stayed during his early childhood. Rhon also re-visited Cottage 6 where he lived, which is now the home for semi-functional boys.
Rhon’s parents are obviously very proud of their son. They related that he is a very generous person and is also very sociable and gets along well with just about everybody. Rhon’s parents promised that it will definitely be a first of many more visits to come.
